Beginning on Tuesday, October 2nd, lasting until Friday, October 5th, contractors working on the NC Department of Transportation road widening/waterline relocation project on Piney Green Road will begin flushing the new 24” water line which extends from Hubert down Hwy. 24 up Piney Green Road. Once the flushing begins, residents in Hubert and in the Piney Green area from the Hubert ONWASA Water Treatment Plant up Piney Green Road may experience occasional sediment in the water which may cause the water to be discolored. If this should occur, the water is not harmful, just simply turn on the largest faucet in your house, usually a tub faucet, and let it run until the water runs clear. Be sure to check for water discoloration prior to beginning laundry.
