Following the restoration of water service due to work related to an NCDOT project, a boil water advisory is in effect, strictly as a precaution. It will take at least 24 hours following the water outage for laboratory testing to confirm the system is operating normally.
ONWASA encourages residents to boil all water used for human consumption at a rolling boil for 1 to 3 minutes. This includes water for drinking, cooking, brushing teeth, or washing hands. There is no need to boil water for showering or bathing.
