ONWASA has partnered with the American Red Cross to host a blood drive on Thursday, April 4, 2013 from 8:30 AM to 2:30 PM at the side building of the ONWASA Operations Center, 228 Georgetown Road, Jacksonville. Public welcome.
To participate in a blood drive, donors must be at least 17 years old, weigh at least 110 pounds, be in general good health and have valid photo identification; or 16 years old with parental consent. Eligible blood donors can give every 56 days. Donation process can take up to an hour which includes paperwork, temperature, weight, blood pressure and pulse check. A health history review and hemoglobin (iron) test is also performed. The actual donation takes about 10 minutes, followed with refreshments.
Presenting donors between April 1 and June 30 will receive a chance to win one of three $1,000 gift cards via the American Red Cross.
