ONWASA Utility Crew Departs to Assist with Hurricane Helene Recovery Efforts
Onslow Water and Sewer Authority (ONWASA) has deployed a six-person crew to the Town of Woodfin, NC in response to the aftermath of Hurricane Helene. The team’s primary objective is to aid in the restoration of water and sewer services, which have been severely impacted by the recent natural disaster.
The relief mission is projected to span over a period of 7 days. This collaborative effort is being coordinated with the NC Water and Wastewater Response Network which has been actively engaged in mobilizing support to address the extensive damage caused by Hurricane Helene.
It is important to highlight that ONWASA received invaluable assistance from sister utilities when our own community was affected by Hurricane Florence’s destructive impacts in 2018.
Franky J. Howard, ONWASA CEO, said, “I am incredibly proud of our dedicated employees who have stepped up to assist in the recovery efforts. My thoughts and prayers are with those affected by the hurricane.”
